In an ideal world, you would want Celtic to bring in a manager with a proven track record of winning. There is nothing more important than wins at Parkhead. Yes, playing the right brand of football is an added bonus as well, but not at the expense of silverware. There is a priority list and we all know what's at the top of it when it comes to managers.
Kjetil Knutsen is someone who ticks a lot of boxes. He has done wonders at Bodo/Glimt while working under a budget, compared to most top European teams.
Celtic fans will know that well. The Hoops came up against Bodo/Glimt in the Conference League in Ange Postecoglou's debut season and lost convincingly over the two legs.
Other than that, Knutsen has won four league titles in Norway and could have five at the end of their current campaign, which has just three games left to be played. Other than that, he has enjoyed extraordinary success in Europe as well, taking Bodo/Glimt to the Europa League semi-finals, the first Norwegian team in history to do so. It is not hard to see why many believe he would be perfect for Celtic. But the 57-year-old seems to have a condition when it comes to a Parkhead move.
Kjetil Knutsen open to joining Celtic but on one condition
As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Knutsen is keen on becoming the new Celtic manager. But Graeme Bailey has revealed that the manager would be open to the move, once Bodo/Glimt’s Champions League campaign comes to an end.
Now, that is an interesting problem for Celtic. It will take a while for Bodo/Glimt's Champions League campaign to come to an end.
So, will Celtic wait until the end of January to bring in their new manager? Or will they try to get things done quicker?
