Celtic thrashed Hearts 7-1 at home on Sunday to press home their dominance at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The Hoops raced into an early lead in the 7th minute when Liam Scales flicked on a corner at the front post, and Kieran Tierney headed home from close range.

Three minutes later, a similar corner routine was half-cleared, but Dane Murray reached out and scooped the ball back towards goal, allowing Benjamin Nygren to double Celtic's lead.

Celtic made it three and four before half-time, and both goals came from Callum Osmand. First Camilo Durán played the striker in on goal, and it was a clinical finish from the youngster, and then Durán had an effort saved before getting up and crossing to allow Osmand an open goal header.

Hearts did pull one back through Mendy before the break, and it was a fine finish from the edge of the box, but Hearts were no closer going into the break because Mika Baur forced a fifth goal before the break. The German crept down the left-hand side of the box and showed excellent footwork and produced a fine finish, although a mix-up on the Hearts goal-line saw the goal go down as an own goal.

The sixth came within minutes of the restart, with Tierney stealing the ball and playing a superb through ball for Durán, who finished with a superb first-time shot. The game dided out from that point, at least until the 82nd minute, when substitute Kasper Hogh played a nice through ball for Nygren to score his second with a confident finish.

Viljami Sinisalo - 7

Solid enough. Bailed out Liam Scales early on and made the saves he should have. Nothing he could do about the Mendy goal.

Kieran Tierney (Off at 60') - 9

In the right place at the right time to head home the opener from close range. Provided an excellent assist for the sixth, intercepting, driving inside and then playing the perfect through ball. Tierney was a threat throughout. His best game of the season.

Liam Scales - 7

Lucky not to score an own goal with a blind backpass, but after being bailed out by Sinisalo, he won a front post header from a corner to set up the opening goal a couple of minutes later. Generally solid.

Dane Murray - 7

Set up the second by showing some agility and hooking the ball back towards goal. Much like his partner, he was solid.

Colby Donovan - 8

A solid all-round display. Showed some real strength on occasions, which was nice to see.

Callum McGregor (Off at 60') - 7

Controlled the midfield wiithout any real fuss. He or Baur should have gotten out to close the shot down quicker for the goal, but it was a fine finish.

Mika Baur - 7

Showed brilliant feet to creep through just before half-time. It was a lovely finish, too, but it will go down as an own goal because Hearts had men on the line and Kingsley kicked it off his own player, which led to it crossing the line.

Benjamin Nygren - 7

Reacted well to tuck home the second goal from close range. Came close with a free-kick in the second half. Scored with a confident finish to score the seventh eight minutes from time. This was a better performance from Nygren, who has needed to have a bigger say on games.

Haissem Hassan (Off at 70') - 7

Hit the post with an excellent run and shot in the 17th minute. Hassan was lively and dangerous, but there is still more to come from him.

Callum Osmand (Off at 45') - 8

A perfect, clinical finish for the Celtic third. The clinical touch the Bhoys have been missing. Went off at half-time, likely because the game was sealed and he has only recently returned from injury, but we'll get more on that.

Camilo Durán (Off at 60') - 9

Provided a perfect pass through to Osmand for the third. Durán scored an excellent goal for the sixth, finding the bottom corner with a first-time effort that few in this team could pull off.

Substitutes

Jota (On at 46') - 7

Showed some serious class and made some of his Hearts opponents look silly at times.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (On at 60') - 6

Steady enough, and that's all he had to be with the game won.

Kasper Hogh (On at 60') - 6

Didn't offer much until the 82nd minute when he turned and played a delightful through ball to Nygren to score.

James Forrest (On at 70') - 6

Same as the above.

Landon Emenalo (On at 60') - 6

It was nice to get a first look at the youngster. We didn't learn much, given the game was won, but he looked comfortable.
