Kelechi Iheanacho to Celtic, that is a transfer that the Hoops are believed to be revisiting right now after failing to sign him in January, as he decided to join Middlesbrough. The former Manchester City player scored once in 15 appearances for Boro by the way and his contract was terminated by Sevilla right before the summer window's deadline.

Celtic tried to sign Kasper Dolberg, failed, and then could not sign any other striker before the deadline either. On the other hand, they allowed Adam Idah to join Swansea City without having a replacement in place. This is a situation that not even the most pessimistic of fans would have envisioned.

Celtic fans are not thrilled with the Iheanacho rumours. But there is an acceptance that they do not have any real options up top right now and need whoever they can get.

Yet, that Iheanacho deal is not over the line yet. And the UEFA deadline is not their only worry either. It looks another club have entered the race to sign the Nigerian international from right under Celtic's nose.

As reported by Samsun Gazetesi, Samsunspor are considering signing Iheanacho. It's been suggested that attempts are underway to bring in the Nigerian striker. The Turkish club remain active in the transfer race with a new offer.

There we are again. Unsure what the future holds for the striker position for Celtic. Even the Iheanacho deal, which most fans view as a last resort move for the Scottish champions, appears to be uncertain.

At this point in time, we can only wait and see how things play out from here. And the hope is that Celtic are somehow able to sign a quality striker, whether it is Iheanacho or someone else.
