Celtic got the job done in their opening game, beating Dundee 1-0 thanks to Benjamin Nygren's early second half header, turning home an excellent Kieran Tierney cross.
It was by no means a vintage performance from the Bhoys, and it was a performance that had the hallmarks of an opening game. Celtic did get the win, though, and the three points will be valued above all else.
Sutton issues Hogh and Duran verdicts
Celtic's only two signings of the summer, Camilo Duran and Kasper Hogh, both started the game, and there were mixed results, with Duran showing some good signs out of position out wide, while Hogh struggled up top.
Asked about Duran during the Sky Sports commentary, Chris Sutton said: "I thought he was neat and tidy. There were some signs with decent link-up with Johnston."
Meanwhile, Sutton also posted an overall verdict on X, including his thoughts on Hogh, adding: "Job done for Celtic… should’ve, could’ve won by more but three points is the most important thing. Wasn’t Hogh’s night but patience required. Absolutely loved seeing Carter Vickers back… he’s been missed. The club should not sell Alastair Johnston unless it’s silly money…"
What Hogh had to say
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Hogh, who seems like quite the character, admitted his aim was off during his debut.
"I'm happy with the win," he said. "We have amazing fans. I love that, and I will have to go to shooting practice, you know. I missed a few chances today. I was just happy to be on the pitch today and help the team. I can't do anything about it now, just work on it. That's how it is."
