A number of managers, who were linked with Celtic over the past days, have been ruled out as potential options for the Hoops over the past few days. Ange Postecoglou seems to be keen on taking some time away from the game after being sacked twice within the space of months. On the other hand, it looks like Craig Bellamy and Kieran McKenna are eager to continue in their current roles.
Nicky Hayen has not completely ruled out the idea of a move when talking to the media. But he has admitted that he is happy with life at Club Brugge and does not sund like someone who is eager to push for a move away in the middle of the season.
So, the options might be decreasing for Celtic already. But it does look like one manager they have been linked with lately, who also played for the club for a brief stint, is open to the idea of taking over at Parkhead. At least, he seems willing to discuss the idea.
As reported by The Telegraph, Robbie Keane would be interested in talking to Celtic if an approach is made. He is currently the Ferencvaros manager.
Irish manager interested in talking to Celtic over vacant job
Keane spent a loan spell at Celtic during his playing days and put up some great numbers. Unfortunately, the club were not able to sign him on a permanent basis.
Could they end up bringing him back to Celtic Park as a manager? The possibility cannot be ruled out. Although, fans will have some questions about any move for Keane for sure.
Keane has found success at Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ferencvaros, winning silverware with both. That being said, he is not proven at the highest level as a manager so far.
