Celtic fans always like to keep an eye out for their former players and how things turn out for them, even after leaving the club. Of course, there are quite a few who have gone on to achieve great things, like Virgil van Dijk. Then there are those who have struggled, whether that be with playing time, form or injuries. The likes of Jota and Kieran Tierney have even returned to Glasgow.
One former Celtic player who has quietly carved out an impressive career for himself since leaving Parkhead is Timothy Weah. He was on loan from Paris Saint-Germain back in 2019.
Weah did have a few nice moments in a Celtic shirt. And since leaving the club, he has always been very complimentary about his time spent at Parkhead, even speaking openly about it to the media when he returned as a Lille player.
While it did not work out for him at PSG, Weah has played for the likes of Lille and Juventus. And now, he is set for a big move to another top European side.
'Here we go' - Fabrizio Romano confirms Celtic fan favourite's €18m move
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Weah to Olympique Marseille has been given the here we go. The package will be €1m loan fee, €14m obligation to buy, €3m add-ons and a sell-on clause.
Weah makes the move ahead of the World Cup. So, it might be him trying to make sure that he gets into the United States national team next year. Let's hope that it works out well for him.
As for Celtic, they need to make some things happen in the remainder of this summer transfer window as well. Their performance in the Flag Day game against St Mirren did not fill anyone up with confidence about this squad.
