This summer is expected to be filled with both incomings and departures for Celtic as they look to freshen up a squad that appeared stagnant and somewhat uninspired in the second half of the 24/25 campaign. One of the areas where the Hoops might look to shake things up is striker, as they never really replaced Kyogo. Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda scored a combined 53 goals last season but another option would be great for Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic have been linked with quite a few strikers in recent times. Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondby, David Strelec of Slovan Bratislava, Danny Ings and several others.

In fact, that Ings rumour is particularly interesting. He is leaving West Ham United as a free agent this summer, at the end of his contract. And it looks like a Celtic striker will be replacing him.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Daniel Cummings will join West Ham United on July 1st. The agreement is done and the deal has been given the 'here we go'. The medical is complete and Celtic will get a €300k training compensation.

Cummings has been an absolute standout for Celtic at the B Team level. He has scored 29 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions in this campaign. But unfortunately, he has faced the same problem that many before him did.

The first-team opportunities have not come for Cummings despite his stellar performances for Celtic B. He was given only one appearance by Rodgers, as a late substitute against Aston Villa in the Champions League.

So, it is easy to understand why he has chosen to follow the same path as the likes of Ben Doak, Rocco Vata and Daniel Kelly, and head down south. The player cannot be blamed at all and it is Celtic who need to provide academy graduates a better pathway into the senior side.
