Winning trophies has not been an issue for Celtic in recent years but that does not mean that everything has gone perfectly for them. One area where the Hoops clearly need to improvement is their development of youngsters in the academy and then promoting them to the senior team, and providing the right opportunities, when the time comes.

Unfortunately, they have failed at that for a while now. The last one to make that jump from the academy and become a first-team superstar was Kieran Tierney, who is not being linked with a return to Parkhead after spending more than five years at Arsenal.

It is worth mentioning that Celtic have not been helped by the fact that many youngsters have left before the club get a real chance to introduce them into the first-team fold. Names like Ben Doak and Rocco Vata come to mind in that regard.

Now, another midfielder has decided to quit the Hoops. As reported by Hearts' official website, Hearts B have completed the signing of Aiden Haddow from Celtic B. He joins them on a deal until the summer of 2026.

As reported by Edinburgh News, Haddow was out of contract this summer. He was not offered an extension.

Haddow is a creative midfielder and he is known for his passing. Of course, his chances of breaking through into the first-team at Hearts will be much higher than it was at Celtic, where youngsters have rarely gotten proper chances in recent years.

One high-profile name who made a similar move early on in his career and left Celtic for Hearts was Aaron Hickey. It would be safe to say that things have worked out quite well for him. Let's see how Haddow's career unfolds from here on forward.
