Things are picking up pace for Celtic in the summer transfer window and they are doing business at an unexpected rate. The arrivals of Kieran Tierney, Isaac English, Ross Doohan and Benjamin Nygren have already been made official by the Hoops. And now, it looks like the next addition is not far away either.
For a long time, it has been believed that Celtic will try to add to their forward ranks this summer. After all, they never really replaced Kyogo, when he left for Rennes in January.
But instead of bringing in an experienced striker, it looks like Celtic are set to trust potential once again. They are on the verge of announcing the arrival of a striker who was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season.
Of course, we are talking about Callum Osmand. His contract with Fulham is set to run out soon and Celtic will only need to pay a developmental fee to sign him from the Premier League club this summer.
'Good news' - Celtic set to announce next summer signing
It looks like the fans can expect the announcement of Osmand's arrival very soon. As reported by Born Celtic, Colin Watt said on ACSSOM:
"As far as I’m led to believe, Callum Osmand from Fulham will also be announced in the next few days as well.
“So it’s good news all round."
Osmand will most likely be the third option at striker for Celtic next season behind Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah. Of course, one has to question what his arrival would for Johnny Kenny. Bolton Wanderers recently made a failed offer to sign the Irishman.
The Hoops will probably take a look at both Kenny and Osmand over pre-season before deciding who to send out on loan. The former was excellent on loan at Shamrock Rovers but was not able to show enough in Celtic colours in the second half of the season. The latter has impressed at Premier League 2 level but will that translate to senior football? We will have all the answers very soon. So hold on.
