The goalkeeping situation at Celtic is one that deserves more attention than it has gotten in the ongoing transfer window. Kasper Schmeichel has struggled for form since the second half of last season. But he has continued to start games for the Hoops despite making several high-profile errors, including in the back-to-back cup finals.

The other goalkeeper that Celtic have is Viljami Sinisalo. But when he was handed a start recently, he failed to impress and might not be ready for that starting spot.

There have not been many rumours linking Celtic with goalkeepers at the moment. The only substantial links is with Stefan Ortega of Manchester City but it is unclear whether he would be open to a move to Parkhead, or if a push will even be made to bring him in the middle of the campaign.

Amid all this, a goalkeeper is now back at Parkhead. Kilmarnock has announced that Tobi Oluwayemi has returned to Celtic.

It is hard to imagine that Oluwayemi will get a chance at Celtic, despite the poor goalkeeping performances at the club in recent times. When he was signed, there were high hopes for him. But things have not according to plan.

Of course, breaking into the Celtic team as a goalkeeper is extremely tough. So, it is easy to see why somebody like Oluwayemi might have a tough time getting chances for the Hoops.

Celtic's overall record at developing youngsters in recent years has been particularly poor and something that the club need to work on. As for Oluwayemi, he might have to leave in order to get consistent chances somewhere. So far, he has not made a single appearance for the senior team. Now, 22 years of age, it is time for the former Tottenham Hotspur to make a choice.
