The January transfer window is a couple of days away. And it is set to be a very important one for Celtic, who need to turn around their campaign. The first half of the season has been terrible for the Hoops. Brendan Rodgers resigned, Martin O'Neill steadied the ship as interim manager, but a lot of that good work has been undone following Wilfried Nancy's arrival.

Let's not forget that Nancy does not have the right personnel right now to implement his system. One can only hope that the club make the necessary additions in January. And then we can make a proper judgment on his qualities as a manager.

It looks like there are four positions where Nancy wants Celtic to make additions during the winter transfer window. And that number could increase, depending on the exits.

As reported by the Daily Record, Nancy and Paul Tisdale have put together priority positions they are keen to strengthen in January. The French manager wants a right-back, a right-sided centre-back, a right winger and a striker. This initial list could be added to if the club were to move others in their squad on.

All of those signings would make sense for Celtic. At right-back, they do need someone with Alistair Johnston picking up another injury. In the right centre-back role, they do not have anybody either. Cameron Carter-Vickers is out, and Anthony Ralston is not good enough.

On the right flank, the club could do with another option as well. The same could be said of the left, but then, Jota is set to return next year.

And finally, the club definitely need to bring in a striker. Also, hopefully, it will be someone who can score goals on a consistent basis, not another project signing.
