It would be an understatement to say that Philippe Clement is under a ton of pressure to deliver at Ibrox right now. His Rangers side have been struggling badly for the entirety of this campaign and look to be headed for a trophyless season. They are trailing Celtic by a significant margin in the league and have failed in both cup competitions.

This is not how it was supposed to go for Clement. After all, the Belgian was handed a long-term contract extension just earlier in the season.

Unfortunately for the Rangers though, things are not showing any signs of getting better. Their last defeat came at the hands of Championship side, Queen's Park, which led to their elimination from the Scottish Cup. Not what the doctor ordered.

They could have suffered another bad result this weekend against Hearts. But a former Celtic player ended up scoring a couple of own goals as the Rangers won 3-1 away from home.

The player we are talking about is none other than Jamie McCart. He scored an own goal in the 20th minute of the game and then again in the 73rd minute.

Of course, McCart came through the youth ranks at Celtic. He made only one senior appearance for the Hoops though before he left the club.

Since then, McCart has had a bit of a journeyman career. He has played for a number of Scottish clubs and some down in England as well.

Unfortunately for the former Celtic player, he ended up scoring twice against the Rangers but in the wrong net. That result does give Clement a bit of breathing room as another draw or defeat would have meant that the pressure would have increased on the board to shown him the exit door.
