It is always interesting to see former Celtic players get into management. A ton of them have enjoyed a lot of success on the pitch but it is a very different ball game when it comes to succeeding in the dugout. A lot of greats fail in that regard. On the other hand, there are also those who are able to make the adjustment successfully.

Someone who did not spend a lot of time at Celtic but did make his presence felt is Robbie Keane. He had a short loan stint at Parkhead from Tottenham Hotspur.

In 19 games, Keane scored 16 goals for Celtic. But a permanent move did not happen. One can only wonder how it would have turned out if he did have a long run for the Hoops.

Keane has retired from the game since then and has a couple of managerial roles so far, although he has not made a name for himself in management yet. If things work out, his next role in that regard might be in Turkey.

Robbie Keane is wanted for a head coach job in Turkey. As reported by Sporx (via Daily Record), Fatih Karagumruk want the former Celtic striker to take over their top job.

Fatih Karagumruk are actually in a decent position right now. The TFF First League team sit at third and are just four points off the top after the first 17 games of the campaign.

It remains to be seen if Keane does end up landing the job. Of course, he is a big name from his time as a player for teams like Celtic, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, Liverpool and more. But as a manager, he is yet to prove his mettle and these are the type of roles he will need to accept if he wants to move up the ladder.
