Ferencvaros boss Balazs Borbely has been speaking ahead of his side's Europa League opener with Celtic on Thursday night. Borbely, who is Robbie Keane's successor, takes his side to Celtic Park amid a start to the season that has seen them pick up 11 points from six games.
That won't be seen as the ideal start for the Hungarian side, who finished second last season, only missing out on the league title by one point.
But they know it will be a tricky test to face Celtic in the raucous Parkhead atmosphere, albeit they will take belief from the Hoops' struggles in big games this season, including last Sunday's Old Firm performance.
Speaking ahead of the game, Ferencvaros boss Borbely said: "I was lucky enough to play at Celtic’s stadium, I know what kind of atmosphere awaits us.
“We are talking about a big team, but our team has already shown that it is capable of performing very well against big teams and achieving a fair result.”
He added: "Obviously, we had an idea, a goal that we set at the beginning of the season, not only for the European Cup appearance, but for the entire season.
“We are more or less as we planned, so for now it’s fine. We started separately for the European Cup appearance and the Hungarian championship.
“We rotated a lot, we changed a lot, and that left its mark on our performance. Now I feel that we have pretty much found everyone’s position, we have learned from the fact that if we rotate ten people, it may not work the way we imagined.
“We have stabilised our performance both in Europe and in the league. Obviously, there are many things that we can still develop, that we still need to improve, but I think we are on the right track.”
That will be put to the test against Celtic on Thursday night, as will the Bhoys' ability to bounce back from that crushing Old Firm defeat that felt like a revealing performance for a Hoops side that has struggled to deal with pressure so far this season.
