As we near the end of the 24/25 season, Celtic are looking to win another treble. This will be their sixth in nine seasons. That is a remarkable run, no matter what anyone thinks about the quality of Scottish football. If successful, it would be Brendan Rodgers' third one, a record. On the other hand, the last manager to guide the Hoops to all three domestic trophies in a single campaign finds himself in a world of trouble.
Despite a decent performance, Tottenham Hotspur lost their last match to Nottingham Forest. That means they are 16th in the Premier League table, just one point above 17th-placed West Ham United.
While relegation is not a possibility, finishing just above that is not acceptable for a club like Tottenham Hotspur either. It is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou's time with the club could soon come to an end.
Recent reports have suggested that Postecoglou could be sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, even if they win the Europa League this season, where they have made it to the semis and will face Bodo/Glimt. On the other hand, Fabrizio Romano has named the two candidates the club have lined up as his replacements.
Fabrizio Romano drops Ange Postecoglou update Celtic fans won't like
It looks like Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva are the two managers that Spurs have earmarked as potential successors to Postecoglou. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Romano said on the Market Madness podcast:
"Iraola and Marco Silva are two of the main names on the list at Tottenham for the potential new coach, in case they decide to fire Ange Postecoglou."
Postecoglou might have only spent a couple of seasons managing Celtic. But he still won five trophies and is fondly remembered by the supporters.
As a result, they would not want to see him fail at Tottenham Hotspur. But unfortunately, it feels like that is where it is headed. We would be surprised if he is still their manager come next season.
