Fabrizio Romano broke the news that Nicolas Kuhn would be joining Como this summer for a transfer fee in the region of €19 million. The Celtic winger was always expected to depart in this window, as he was being linked with plenty of clubs, including RB Leipzig and Newcastle United. But ultimately, he has settled on a move to the ambitious Serie A side.

Kuhn was Celtic's best player by far in the first half of the previous season. He scored a brace against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, a goal against Bayern Munich in a knockout game away at the Allianz Arena and in the Scottish Cup final against the Rangers.

Considering this, the €19 million transfer fee feels a bit on the low side. Perhaps Celtic will be successful in negotiating a high sell-on clause, something that has served them well in the past. Just look at Jeremie Frimpong for example.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has another update on the situation. He reports that medical tests have been booked at the beginning of next week. Como will pay €19m to Celtic and Ajax will receive a small fee as he played for their Academy.

Well, at one point of time, it was believed that Celtic would look for a Scottish-record fee to part ways with Kuhn. But his form dropped drastically in the second half of the campaign.

So, that surely had an impact on his transfer valuation. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Celtic and whether they will end up signing a proper replacement.

As for Kuhn, we can only wish him the best of luck at Como. This might be a good step in his career. His time at Celtic Park was short but eventful for sure.
