There are quite a few players who are expected to leave Celtic in the upcoming summer transfer window. It is very difficult to succeed at Parkhead. The pressure is to win almost every game that the club takes part in, and so, consistency is key. Just look at Nicolas Kuhn, the Hoops' best player in the first half of the campaign, who now finds himself outside of the starting XI. That's how quickly things can change.

One player who found that out in the first half of the season was Alex Valle. He was brought in on loan from FC Barcelona but was not able to establish himself in the starting XI, although he did make decent contributions here and there.

Valle's loan deal would be cut short in the middle of the season. He would leave Celtic and join Como on loan. There he has found his feet under the management of Cesc Fabregas.

Valle has established himself as a regular starter at Como. The Serie A newcomers have secured their place in the Italian top flight as well and currently sit at an impressive 12th. And it looks like the left-back's solid performances since arriving in the winter are set to be rewarded with a permanent move.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Celtic flop headed for €6m move

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Como are set to trigger the €6 million release clause for Valle to sign him on a permanent deal from Barcelona. The club are set to offer him a long-term deal. He is a key part of Fabregas' plans.

It clearly did not work out for Valle at Celtic. Seeing his success in the Serie A, one has to wonder if he should have been given more chances.

Celtic's left-back situation remains up in the air. Kieran Tierney will join as a free agent in the summer, having already agreed a pre-contract. But who will be his backup option? Greg Taylor's current deal is running out and no extension has been announced yet, although there are rumours about one.
