Celtic fans have already had a lot to celebrate on this weekend. The club lifted their fourth-straight Scottish Premiership title at Parkhead on Trophy Day, after a 1-1 draw against St Mirren, which saw James Forrest score a late equaliser. But that is not the end of the fantastic news coming the Hoops' way.

With the league now over, and just one more game left in Celtic's season, albeit a very important fixture, a lot of eyes are already turning towards the summer transfer window. And it looks like the Hoops' transfer budget is set to receive a nice boost.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Jeremie Frimpong is set to join Liverpool. The agreement is done for the Dutch right-back as Bayer Leverkusen are informed on the €35m release clause being triggered. He will sign a five-year deal with the medical now being scheduled. The Italian journalist has given the move his famous 'here we go'.

Firstly, we can only wish Frimpong the best in this new adventure. It is always great to see a former Celtic player end up at a top club like Liverpool. At the same time, it is set to hand the club a significant windfall as well.

Celtic hold a sell-on clause in Frimpong's deal. Some outlets have claimed that that figure could be as high as 30%, which would mean quite the fee for the Hoops.

Frimpong was believed to have joined Bayer Leverkusen in the winter of 2021 for a transfer fee believed to be around £11 million. Now, he is set to make a €35 million move to Liverpool.

If the 30% figure is accurate, then that would mean a £5.5 million windfall for Celtic That is quite the sum without having to do any extra work and could help the Hoops sign an extra player or two in the upcoming window if they want to.
