The Fixture List
Scotland is involved in two friendlies to prepare them for the upcoming World Cup in America. First, they will face off against Japan on Saturday, March 28, at Hampden Park, before travelling to Liverpool to play Ivory Coast at the Hill Dickinson Stadium (Everton's ground).
Scales and Kenny, the latter of whom is out on loan at Bolton, will link up for a World Cup play-off semi-final against Czech Republic on Thursday, March 26. Should they win that game, they will progress to a final play-off game where they will take on either Denmark or North Macedonia.
Trusty was chosen to represent the USA, and his side will face Belgium in a friendly on Saturday, March 28. Their second game comes on Wednesday, April 1, where they will face Portugal.
Japan have already qualified for the World Cup and so, will also be playing two friendlies like Scotland. First, they will play the Scots at Hampden on Saturday, March 28, before travelling down south to face England at Wembley on Tuesday, March 31.
Nygren has been in form for Celtic this season, and he'll hope he can carry that into his country's World Cup play-off. They will take on Ukraine on Thursday, March 26, and should they win that, a game against either Poland or Albania will await them in the play-off final.
Saracchi hasn't played a full 90 minutes for the Hoops since their win over VfB Stuttgart in the Europa League, but he still got the call-up for Uruguay. His side will face England on Friday, March 27, with Algeria being their next friendly opponent on Tuesday, March 31.
South Korea will be involved in two friendlies as well, with their first game being on Saturday, March 28, against Ivory Coast. Their second match will take place against Austria on Tuesday, March 31.
Sinisalo is in the Finland squad for their two friendlies, which they will kick off against New Zealand on Friday, March 27. They will then take on Cape Verde on Monday, March 30.
Tunisia will face off against Scotland's World Cup group opponents, Haiti, on Sunday, March 29, before going head-to-head with Canada on Wednesday, April 1.
Johnston is unable to feature for Canada but was called up to train with the squad as he is very close to returning from injury. His side will take on Iceland on Saturday, March 28, before facing Tunisia on Wednesday, April 1.
Scotland's under-21s will play two games in a bid to qualify for the U21 Euros. Their first game will be played at Dens Park against Czech Republic on Friday, March 27, with their second fixture coming against Portugal on Tuesday, March 31. Our opponents are the hosts for that second game, with it taking place at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota.
Some players missed out
Julian Araujo is one of the players who was surely going to be called up but was left out due to him picking up an injury against Rangers at Ibrox during Celtic's Scottish Cup penalty victory. He has been a massive hit for the Hoops and will be disappointed to miss out on games for Mexico.
Reo Hatate has been finding his form in the green and white again, but the Japan manager didn't call him up. There is no doubt the midfielder will be sad to miss out, but hopefully, he can regain his energy during the break to help Celtic upon their return.
