One of the things that has become clear over the first week of Martin O'Neill as interim manager is that every player needs to be allowed to start on a clean slate. There are a lot of players who did not get enough chances under the management of Brendan Rodgers who have looked phenomenal immediately after his exit. Names like Auston Trusty, Johnny Kenny and Callum Osmand fall under this category.
So, it is very possible that several other players could do much better now that Rodgers has left. In the case of one, we might never find out though.
Luis Palma had actually looked superb early on in his time as a Celtic player. But his form would fade away soon and once he lost his place in the team, he was never able to regain it.
Palma is currently out on loan at Lech Poznan and is doing brilliantly there. He has scored five goals and provided four assists in 17 appearances for them. As a result, it looks like they want to sign him permanently.
European club keen to sign Celtic player with £4m clause
As reported by the Daily Record, Lech Poznan are keen to keep Palma. But Celtic are seemingly unwilling to budge on the release clause.
The clause is believed to be in the region of £4 million. That would be almost twice the transfer record of Lech Poznan though. Can you imagine Celtic going out and signing a player for £22 million, even if he does well while on loan at Parkhead?
So, it is unclear whether Lech Poznan will sign Palma next summer. And Celtic fans will also be wondering whether the Honduran winger could be an asset to this team under a different manager. So, let's wait and watch how this plays out.
