Celtic are on a brilliant run of form right now. It has been a superb week for Brendan Rodgers' side. First, they defeated Aberdeen by a 6-0 scoreline in the Scottish League Cup semi-final. The Dons have been their closest competition domestically this season. Then, they proved their mettle in the Champions League, with a relatively comfortable 3-1 win against RB Leipzig, a result and performance nobody would have seen coming.
Thus, there is a lot to be happy about if you are a Celtic fan. But that does not mean that the Hoops do not have their problems as well.
One of them has been their inability to promote youngsters into the senior team. The last one to successfully make that jump and become a starter was Kieran Tierney. It has been a long while since then.
That has led to many talented youngsters leaving the club early on in their careers rather than wait to make their breakthrough at Parkhead. And now, another of Celtic's best talents is being linked with interest down south.
English clubs want Celtic player whose contract expires next summer
As reported by Football Insider, Daniel Cummings is being tracked by a host of English clubs. He is out of contract next summer and could leave the club for a minimal fee.
Cummings is one of the brightest talents that Celtic have right now. He has scored 18 goals in 17 appearances across competitions in the youth and developmental levels this season.
Four of those goals have come in the UEFA Youth League. In the two games that Celtic have won in that competition so far, Cummings has scored a brace each time.
So, it would be safe to say that Celtic must do everything possible to convince him to stay. But in recent years, they have rarely been successful in doing that.
