It looks like Celtic might be looking to sign a winger this summer. They have been linked with quite a few of them in recent times. The club tried to bring in Sondre Orjeseater in January but it did not end up materialising. The rumours linking them with Michel-Ange Balikwisha of Royal Antwerp have cropped up once again as well. And recently, a new name seems to have entered the conversation.
That is Dutch winger, Million Manhoef. He currently plays for Stoke City in the English Championship, where he has earned comparisons with Xhardan Shaqiri for his trickery, pace and overall style of play.
Someone like Manhoef could be a decent addition to this Celtic team, especially if Nicolas Kuhn ends up leaving in the summer. Fortunately, it looks like the Hoops' chances of signing him have been handed a boost as well.
As reported by Alan Nixon (via Inside Futbol), Celtic could be able to land Manhoef this coming summer. Stoke City may be willing to part with him for the right transfer fee.
English club may be ready to let winger join Celtic
Let's see what the future holds for Manhoef. He certainly looks like a bright talent. Would he be an immediate starter for Celtic if he did end up joining the club in the summer? Probably not. But he certainly could develop into one.
It will be interesting to see what kind of a transfer fee the English club are looking for in order to part ways with the Dutch winger. One would not imagine that the Hoops would be willing to shell out a significant figure for someone who is largely unproven.
Anything can happen though. It depends on how much Celtic want to sign him. So, this is a situation worth keeping an eye on.
