This January transfer window has been a twisty one for Celtic to say the very least. We have seen deals fall apart at the last minute, when everything had looked done and dusted. We have seen names emerge out of nowhere and then being signed, while others rumoured to be on the Hoops' radar for weeks have remained stayed put.
At the end of the day, there is not much time left in the January transfer window. Celtic have left themselves a lot of work to do. And while no deal looks to be close to completion at the moment, fans will be hoping that that changes as soon as possible.
Now, let's get to some other news. One that had been expected for a little while and has now been officially announced.
Livingston have confirmed on the club's official website that Adam Montgomery has returned to Celtic. An injury away to Hibernian in October of last year would see him sidelined since. After nearing a return from his rehab, he was injured again and as such, the 23-year-old has headed back to Parkhead.
Defender's return to Celtic officially announced
Montgomery first broke into first-team football during Ange Postecoglou's debut season at Celtic. He would get a decent bit of opportunities at the time as Greg Taylor was out injured and the Hoops' depth at left-back was paper thin.
Montgomery would not remain in the first-team picture after Taylor returned to fitness though. Soon enough, the youngster would find him out on loan.
Since then, it has been one loan spell after another for the youngster. He has never really been able to establish himself anywhere though. Injuries have not helped in that regard. And it does not feel like he has much of a future at Celtic Park. Let's see how things play out.
