The January transfer window is going to be vital for Celtic this time around. Perhaps even a great one won't be able to salvage their season. From what we have seen so far, Wilfried Nancy is nowhere near the grade to be the Hoops' manager. But the board seem intent on sticking with him, even though it is causing the campaign to unravel. Maybe being proven right about the appointment is more important than the interests of the club for some.
Anyways, the least they can do is sign some quality players in January in hopes of turning this campaign around, somehow. Julian Araujo has been brought in on loan from Bournemouth already. And it looks like a second signing is not far away.
Considering the system that Nancy is playing right now, it is hard to figure out what exactly the club needs. They have brought in a right-back already. Now, a right winger seems to be on the verge of a move to Parkhead, although there is no traditional use of either position in his structure.
As reported by The Celtic Way, Jocelin Ta Bi's move to Scottish football will be completed in the coming days. He will become the second signing of Nancy at Parkhead.
'Completed in the coming days' - Celtic close to second January signing
Well, Ta Bi is not exactly the kind of player we would expect to come in and make an immediate impact. He is another one of those project signings that the club have made so often in recent years.
Rarely have any of those worked out. And while it would be wrong to count out anybody before they have kicked a ball for Celtic, the odds are stacked against him right now.
Celtic are completely out of form. That makes it even more difficult to make an impression. And it does not take long for things to move on at Parkhead.
