He is back like he never left. Martin O'Neill has been brought back by Celtic as interim boss for the second time this season. Many will argue that he should have never left, especially before the Scottish League Cup final. The chance to win that trophy is now gone, but the Northern Irishman will get a shot and winning another Premiership title.

O'Neill has been handed the job until the end of the campaign. This decision comes after their appointment of Wilfried Nancy proved to be an absolute disaster.

To most, it was clear from the very beginning that the Frenchman was completely out of his depth in the Celtic job. The problem is, the board took a bit too long to accept that and it has certainly had a damaging effect on the club's campaign.

How much damage has been done? Will O'Neill be able to bring things back on track? Those are questions for another day. Today is one to celebrate. As Chris Sutton put it, it is a 'Huge surprise'.

You got to admire O'Neill for always being just a phone call away. There is no doubt that he loves the club a lot, and the fans love him in return. This seems like the perfect match, at least under these circumstsnces.

It is very clear that this squad is far from perfect. A lot of work is needed on it. And the club must make quite a few signings in the winter window.

That being said, O'Neill is someone who has already shown that he can get results out of these Bhoys. And that should help him for the rest of the season, as the club look to bring things back on track for the time being at least.
