Chris Sutton has issued his verdict on Celtic's comeback win over St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. The Bhoys fell behind in the first half after Liam Scales dangled an arm and blocked a shot, but the defender redeemed himself with a strong headed goal.
Yang Hyun-jun won the game with a speedy run and collected finish, and Celtic also saw Camilo Duran and Shim Mheuka have goals ruled out.
It was a big test for Celtic, who have protected their 100% record, with St Mirren having picked up 10 points from their four games prior to the game. The Buddies look particularly well organised, and if they continue how they are currently playing, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them around the top few spots this season.
Providing his verdict on the game, Celtic favourite Chris Sutton, who commentated on the game for Sky Sports, wrote on X: "Celtic deserved the win. Hassan absolutely outstanding in the 1 v 1’s Duran works so hard and another assist. Yang will be badly missed. The subs not giving the team the desired effect. Celtic don’t have that midfield enforcer they need. St Mirren brave. A very well coached team."
Celtic are in fine form in the Premiership, and while it is early, it is difficult to see how this team doesn't win the league again this season, especially with the depth added at the back end of the window.
The Hoops are defending pretty well, and they look very dangerous going forward, and Jota is still to come back from injury to add even greater strength to that attack. There are few defences you look at in this division that are going to be able to stop the attack.
It will happen on occasion, of course, but not consistently enough to stop Celtic winning the vast majority of their games, unless there is a major drop-off.
