Celtic put in a decent display against Bayern Munich, that is for sure. There must have ben quite a few fans who had feared that a one-sided defeat would put the tie beyond their reach even before a ball was kicked in the second leg at the Allianz Arena next week. That did not turn out to be the case and there is a possibility that the Hoops can turn it around away in Germany.

It was Celtic who made the brighter start and Nicolas Kuhn had the ball in the back of the Bayern Munich net inside the first minute. But unfortunately, Adam Idah was adjudged to have obstructed the goalkeeper's vision while in an offside position, which meant that the goal was chalked off.

Then, the game slowly shifted in Bayern Munich's favour. A goal, either side of the half-time break, meant that they took a 2-0 lead and the tie looked to be over.

Daizen Maeda gave Celtic a lifeline with a 79th-minute strike though. The 2-1 result means that while the Hoops will have a mountain to climb in the second leg, it is still not an impossible task.

Chris Sutton's immediate reaction to Celtic loss vs Bayern Munich

Chris Sutton is someone whose reaction Celtic fans wait for after big games. Overall, he sounded satisfied with the display his former side had put in against Bayern Munich.

It remains to be seen how things will play out for Celtic in the second leg. They will need to be at their very best, both going forward and at the back, to have a chance to pull off a miracle in Munich.

Miracles do happen though. So, the Hoops should maintain belief in themselves and put their best foot forward. There was enough in the first leg to suggest that they are capable of getting a result against Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich team.
