Chris Sutton sends blunt Champions League warning to Celtic
There is a lot of positivity around Celtic coming out of their draw against Atalanta away in Italy in the Champions League. The result means that the Hoops are in a decent position after three games with four points in the bag. So, despite the horror show against Borussia Dortmund, one would think that Brendan Rodgers' side are in a better spot right now than would have been expected of them at this point.
Things do not get any easier for Celtic in terms of the schedule though. Their next game is against RB Leipzig.
Now, RB Leipzig are yet to pick up a point after their first three Champions League games of the campaign. The two sides met a couple of years back and the German team came out on top then. They have a very different team right now though and do not have players like Christopher Nkunku and Timo Werner, both of whom scored against Celtic.
So, some Celtic fans might be thinking that this is a good time to face RB Leipzig. But Chris Sutton has sent a timely reminder about the quality that the German side still possesses. He wrote in his column in the Daily Record:
"It’s about mixing and matching to suit and, I’ll be honest, there are aspects from Bergamo you would have to consider for the next tie against RB Leipzig.
Don’t be fooled by the fact the Germans have no points. They still possess top talent and caused Liverpool all sorts of problems in the early stages of their match in midweek with their own aggressive press. Arne Slot’s team were caught on occasions and got away with not being punished. Rodgers will look closely at that. Of course, there is more onus to go for it at home, but, while expansive and excellent against Slovan Bratislava, it may need dialled-down for Leipzig."

It goes without saying that Celtic cannot afford to take RB Leipzig lightly even for a second. They might have zero points after three games in Europe but they have faced teams like Juventus, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.
So, they will be even more eager to pick up points against Celtic. And also, do not overlook the fact that they are second in the Bundesliga table, level on points with league leaders Bayern Munich.
This could be as tough a test for Celtic as Borussia Dortmund. So, they need to bring their A-game when they welcome the German club to Parkhead early next month.
