Chelsea are flying high after a long time, as Enzo Maresca's appointment seems to have taken the team forward. The club have invested a lot over the past few years when it comes to signing some of the best youngsters from around world football and now, that seems to be paying off for the Blues. But that also means that things are not working out for some of those additions and it might already be time to part ways. Celtic seemingly have the chance to bring in one such player.
Carney Chukwuemeka is someone that we have suggested as an interesting option for Celtic on more than one occasion in the past. And now, it looks like that opportunity has actually come knocking, if rumours are indeed accurate.
The Hoops are not the only ones with the opportunity though. As reported by TBR Football, Chelsea have offered Celtic and Rangers the chance to sign Chukwuemeka in January.
Chukwuemeka is someone who had shown a ton of potential under the management of Mauricio Pochettino when given chances. But he simply does not seem to be in Maresca's plans at the moment.
Chelsea offer £20m midfielder to Celtic in January
It is not hard to understand why Maresca might be finding it difficult to hand chances to Chukwuemeka. Cole Palmer is undroppable at this moment. And the manager also has options like Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku in that position.
As a result, the future of Chukwuemeka at Stamford Bridge is in doubt. Could he end up at Celtic Park? Time shall tell.
There is no doubt about the youngster's talent and he could actually be a good signing for Celtic at this point in time. The club already do have plenty of options in midfield though and do not really need another one.
