Celtic have signed plenty of players since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers for a second run as the club's manager. Some of those signings have worked out. Nicolas Kuhn is a perfect example of that and has established himself as the Hoops' talisman this season. On the other hand, there are others which have not been nowhere near as successful.

One player who was signed in the same position as Kuhn is Marco Tilio. A full Australian international, he was compared to Phil Foden back in his homeland for his style of play.

Tilio was not successful in making a mark at Celtic though and was sent out on loan back to Melbourne City FC. His time there has been filled with injury problems, as the Aussie talent has struggled to get his career back on track.

Tilio had started this season well, scoring the winner in Melbourne City FC's first game of the campaign. But he then ended up picking an injury in the third one. And we won't see him back in action this year.

As reported by ESPN, Tilio will miss the next six to eight weeks with a partial tear to his left hamstring tendon. The injury likely effectively rules the Celtic loanee out of Socceroos contention until the new year.

One would think that Melbourne City FC will be extra careful when it comes to Tilio's recovery. He has been dealing with fitness issues for some time now and has dealt with multiple ones while on loan back in Australia.

Tilio is a good talent for sure. But if he continues to struggle with his fitness, it is hard to see him bring his once promising career back on track. Let's see what the future holds.
