With the fans demanding change in recent weeks, could that lead to Celtic having a big January transfer window this time around and bringing in some high-profile names in the middle of the campaign? Although unlikely, you cannot rule out that possibility. And it looks like Raheem Sterling is someone on their radar, if reports are accurate.

Of course, Sterling is currently a Chelsea player. The club were believed to be keen on parting ways with him in the summer, but nothing materialised. But he is not in Enzo Maresca's plans and it is believed that he is not even training with the first-team squad anymore.

As reported by FootballTransfers, Brendan Rodgers is eyeing up a potential reunion with Sterling at Celtic. The manager's trust in the winger was pivotal to his evolution into one of England’s best players. Sources close to him suggest that this still holds weight.

Of course, any deal would have to be a loan. It is very clear that Sterling's situation at Chelsea is not ideal. Yes, he is on a big contract but no professional footballer wants to spend his time in the reserves, not even training with the first-team anymore. So, if the chance to reunite with Rodgers comes in January, perhaps he would consider it.

Celtic want blockbuster Raheem Sterling signing out of nowhere

It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move for him or not. For now, nothing should be taken as concrete.

Sterling has struggled in recent years. But there is no question about his quality. He would priobably be one of the best in Scotland immediately.

But then again, we had thought the same thing when the Rangers signed Aaron Ramsey a few years back. We all know how that turned out in the end.
