Celtic have been linked with plenty of players in recent times as they are expected to be busy this summer. It is not hard to understand why that has been the case. We have already seen five new arrivals while a move for Hayato Inamura is close as well. On the other hand, Greg Taylor, Scott Bain and Daniel Cummings have already departed while Gustaf Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki are close to doing the same.

That's quite a lot of activity with us just entering July. Unfortunately for Celtic, one of their long-term targets won't end up joining them this summer.

The player we are talking about is Mathias Kvistgaarden. Celtic had tried to sign him multiple times in the past but were not able to reach an agreement with Brondby. RC Lens were able to do that. But even that won't be enough for them to bring in the striker.

As reported by Foot Mercato, after reaching an agreement with Brondby and doing everything to convince Kvistgaarden to join them, RC Lens have lost out in the race. The promising Danish international striker has chosen to join Norwich City.

It is unclear how interested Celtic were in signing Kvistgaarden this summer. There had been some suggestions that the Hoops had dropped out due to the asking price set by Brondby for the transfer.

Of course, it is a bold move from Kvistgaarden if it does indeed happen. He seems to have passed on the chance to play Ligue 1 football in order to end up in the Championship.

Kyogo might be doing the same this summer. but this time around, it is not out of choice. It is believed that Birmingham City are close to signing the Celtic hero.
