Celtic are now racing to get deals done ahead of Wednesday night's UEFA deadline and Thursday afternoon's transfer deadline. The Bhoys are having to get business done quickly ahead of the deadline, having had a sluggish start to the window.
The Hoops are expected to be very busy ahead of Wednesday night's squad submission deadline, but things should slow down after that, given any players signed cannot play in Europe until after the league phase.
With so much going on, we have rounded up the latest Celtic transfer news.
Sam Johnstone loan agreed
Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on loan for the season. The former England international is having his medical today, and he will likely initially back up Viljami Sinisalo, but he will want to challenge for a number one spot.
Celtic have needed a back up keeper since Kasper Schmeichel retired in the summer, and they will pay the majority of Johnstone's wages to get the loan deal done. The 33-year-old was made available by Wolves after they signed two keepers.
Bhoys agree Chelsea loan deal
Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Chelsea forward Shim Mheuka on loan for the season. The 18-year-old has been with Chelsea since joining from Brighton in 2022.
Mhueka has two senior league appearances for Chelsea but that is his only senior football so far. Celtic may be able to offer him some minutes, but there is competition up top between Kasper Hogh, Camilo Duran and Callum Osmand.
Devenny move backed
Former Premier League scout Mick Brown believes Celtic could be well placed to wrap up a deal for Crystal Palace midfielder Justin Devenney, who has been linked.
"Getting Justin Devenny in could be the perfect deal for Celtic," Brown told Football Insider.
"I don't think he's quite good enough to be a regular in the Premier League, but certainly has the attributes and ability to be a success in the Scottish Premiership.
"He's an all-action midfielder, he has a lot of energy and willingness to run and work hard in and out of posession, and he can play in multiple positions. So that makes him the ideal player for Celtic, really, and he is somebody who seems to be firmly on their list of targets.
"Crystal Palace are willing to let him go, they would like to get a good fee for him if they can, and I believe the player is open to a move back to Scotland as well. So it will be one to watch to see if Celtic can get it done, but it doesn't strike me as being a particularly tough deal, with everybody open to making it happen."
