Celtic have been very open to the idea of parting ways with their current players, even in positions where they do not have much depth. Jota's injury towards the end of last season will keep him out for the rest of the year, which means that the Hoops needed to add to their options on the wing this summer from the get-go.
Yet that has not stopped them from letting go of several wingers. Nicolas Kuhn has joined Como FC on a permanent basis. Luis Palma has joined Lech Poznan on loan with an option to buy clause included in the deal. On the other hand, it is believed Marco Tilio is on his way to Rapid Vienna in a similar move.
It had also looked like Yang Hyun-jun was set to follow in their footsteps. The South Korean winger has been linked with an exit this summer as well.
Recently, an image started to do the rounds on social media of Yang in a Norwich City jersey. As a result, most thought that a move was as good as done. But now, it has taken a last-minute U-turn.
Celtic transfer exit saga takes last-minute U-turn
As reported by Mark Hendry on Substack, that picture which showed what looked to be Yang wearing the yellow of Norwich in their home jersey, was not real. It was a fake image.
Of course, that does not mean that Yang will stay on at Celtic. But at least, at this point in time, a move to Norwich City is not as advanced as many of us had been led to believe.
Let's see what the future holds for Yang. One thing that we do know for sure is that Celtic need to start signing some wingers as soon as possible, because they are very light on the flanks right now.
