Celtic have put themselves in a tough spot right now. The club have completely focused on parting ways with players in recent weeks without bringing in fresh faces. That has left Brendan Rodgers' squad light on options in several areas across the pitch. And that is starting to have an effect in their future moves as well.
One such area is the flank. They have already seen Nicolas Kuhn and Luis Palma depart the club. On the other hand, Jota is expected to remain out injured for the rest of the year due to an injury he picked up towards the end of last season.
As a result, Celtic do need to make an addition or two on the wing as soon as possible. But despite being linked with plenty of players over the last few weeks, they have not been able to get a deal over the line.
That means that Marco Tilio's move to Rapid Vienna is now in potential danger of collapsing. This is despite everything being agreed between the two parties already.
Celtic transfer in danger of collapsing despite everything being agreed
As reported by Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports, Rapid Vienna are putting pressure on Celtic to green-light a move for Tilio before they move on to other targets. They’ve agreed a £350k loan deal, with an obligation to buy for £1.3m, but the Hoops have since paused the move as they look for a winger.
Of course, the course is far from ideal for all parties involved. Hopefully, a solution is found as soon as possible.
Otherwise, it looks like Tilio's move to Rapid Vienna might not end up happening. And it is not hard to see why. Why should they be made to wait for Celtic's complete inability to get signings done on time?
