This summer transfer window was one to forget for Celtic and has led to the fans asking for structural changes to be made at the club, so that it is not repeated in the future. The supporters are expected to stay out of the upcoming game at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock for the first 12 minutes to let their dissatisfaction be known to the board.
On the day, a lot of eyes will be on Daizen Maeda as well. The Japanese international could very well be the club's first-choice striker moving forward, after they failed to sign Kasper Dolberg late in the window while also parting ways with Adam Idah.
Maeda has struggled for form lately. And he recently admitted that he was keen to leave Celtic this summer, although a move did not materialise.
Of course, the situation is far from ideal, with the comments being made by Maeda to the media. And in the aftermath, Celtic have been told to accept an offer for him in the January transfer window. As reported by Football Insider, Keith Wyness said:
"He’ll be a case of one that they’ll want to try and keep at least until the end of the season. But it could be that there’s an offer for him.
“Look, he’s a quality player, he’s a talent, and depending on how he does at the start of this season, then I think that January could well be a time for him to go."

It remains to be seen what the future holds for him. There are a lot of variables at play here. How will Maeda perform in the first half of the season?
Will he step up to the plate and showcase his best football? Or will we get the inconsistent football from him that we have in the recent past?
Of course, it is never a great idea to keep a player if he does not want to stay. That being said, sometimes, it is a step that needs to be taken. This summer, there is no way that Celtic could have considered parting ways with Maeda.
