Celtic have an important January transfer window coming up. Even the minimum expectations have been set quite high. The summer was a major disappointment, the board is under pressure already and they also need to back Wilfried Nancy after a poor start to his run as manager. All of these combined and there is every reason to believe that quite a few new faces could arrive at Parkhead next month.

One could argue that Celtic did not loosen the purse strings in the summer due to the shaky position of Brendan Rodgers at the time. Things had clearly gone wrong between the club and the Northern Irishman, and he would end up resigning soon afterwards.

The board have brought in Nancy as the replacement though. And it was always a risky appointment, considering the Frenchman's lack of experience not only at the top level, but in European football as a whole.

One position where Celtic must strengthen without question is striker. They do not have any real depth there, having never replaced Kyogo and Adam Idah while Kelechi Iheanacho has proven to be injury-prone and unreliable since his arrival as a free agent after the summer window closed.

67 Hail Hail have floated the idea of Divock Origi being a potential option for Celtic. The Belgian international is now available as a free agent.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Origi is available as a free agent from January. He has signed his contract termination at AC Milan.

It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move for Origi or not. The striker enjoyed most of his success while playing for Liverpool but never really found his feet at AC Milan. It feels like a very similar move to the one for Iheanacho though.
