The 2025 summer transfer window was a terrible one for Celtic, there is very little doubt about that. The squad is significantly weaker now than they were a year ago. And now, the Hoops' only hope is finding some quality free agents. They have brought in Kelechi Iheanacho already but it remains to be seen if he will be able to rediscover the old form he showcased under the management of Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City.

The flanks are an issue as well, which have not been talked about enough due to the striker issue. Michel-Ange Balikwisha did not impress in his debut. There are question marks over Sebastian Touneki's suitability for Scottish football. And Jota is not expected to return before 2026.

So, all things considered, Celtic could do with another option on the wings as well. Going into deadline day, the talk was about the club trying to bring in a couple of wingers but they only signed Tounekti. Could they look at the free agent market for the other one?

In a recent article, The Herald suggested that Celtic could still look for options on the right-hand side and former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech is full of quality. He just left Al-Duhail SC in Qatar.

Not too long ago, Ziyech was considered one of the most exciting wingers in Europe. He was arguably Ajax's best player as they went on that run to the Champions League semi-finals.

Then, he would sign for Chelsea. There he might not have been a nailed-on starter but he certainly played his part as the Blues won the Champions League.

Right now, Ziyech is 32 years of age and he recently became a free agent. It remains to be seen if the Hoops will make a move or not, but meeting his wage demands might be difficult for them.
