Celtic are expected to strengthen their squad in the summer. It remains to be seen if the Hoops will go and shell out some big transfer fees. It will be worth keeping an eye on the free agent market as well though, as there are always some good options to be found there. Of course, the Hoops will know that quite well.

Celtic have signed players like Kasper Schmeichel and Aaron Mooy as free agents in recent times. Will they end up adding to that list? It remains to be seen.

One player who looks set to become a free agent this summer is Mario Pasalic. His contract with Atalanta is set to run out and considering he has not agreed an extension yet, it is very possible that he is set to leave the Italian club soon.

Pasalic has made 40 appearances for Atalanta this season though. So, he remains very much part of plans at the Serie A club, despite his contract status.

Pasalic is a veteran at Atalanta. He has almost made 300 appearances for the club. Other than that, he has also turned out for teams like AC Milan, AS Monaco and more over the course of his career.

He has enjoyed success at the international level as well. Pasalic has made 74 appearances for the Croatian national team so far.

So, it is safe to say that someone like him could be a brilliant addition to this current Celtic team. It remains to be seen if they do end up making a move for him or not. At 30 years of age, he should have plenty of football left in the tank and could help the club in their quest to improve at the European level.
