This summer, Celtic could be looking to strengthen in a number of positions. If recent suggestions are anything to go by, one of them is in the middle of the park. There are multiple reasons behind that. Firstly, we have found the midfield lacking in some of the big games this season, both in Europe and domestically against the Rangers. Secondly, there is the possibility that Reo Hatate could be on his way out, having spent three and a half years in Glasgow.
So, Celtic might need to bring in someone in the middle of the park, not just to fill a void but to reshuffle things and hopefully get better. How many options are there though who could be an upgrade on someone like Hatate?
Not many, that is for sure. But how about a Spanish midfielder who represented them at the Olympics and even won the gold medal?
In a recent article from CeltsAreHere, one of the players who Celtic have been suggested to target is Aimar Oroz. He currently plays for Osasuna in La Liga.
Celtic tipped to sign Spanish international midfielder
Osasuna are in a decent position right now. They are 8th in La Liga and might end up in a European spot. So, it would take a decent offer for Celtic to convince the club to part ways with a key player like Oroz.
At the same time, it would be a task to convince the player to come to Scotland as well. But one can only hope that the chance to play Champions League football and compete for trophies on a consistent basis can help the Hoops do that.
It remains to be seen what the future holds. At this point in time, this is nothing more than a suggestion. Could a move be made?
