Celtic will need to sign a left-back this summer to provide backup to Kieran Tierney. After six years at Arsenal, the Scottish international has made a return to his boyhood club. The official announcement has been made after months of waiting. But behind him, the Hoops have very little depth at this point in time.

Greg Taylor looks set to leave the club at the end of his contract this summer. On the other hand, Jeffrey Schlupp is headed out with his loan spell expiring. Interestingly, he is also a free agent this summer.

A Nottingham Forest player is set to become a free agent this summer as well, when his contract expires. And some rumours have linked Celtic with a move for him.

We are talking about none other than Harry Toffolo. It has been confirmed that the 29-year-old will leave Nottingham Forest when his contract runs out at the end of this month.

It remains to be seen how accurate the rumours linking Toffolo with Celtic are. It is worth pointing out though that he spent the majority of last season sitting on the bench or in the reserves. He only made seven appearances.

Overall, he has made 57 appearances for Nottingham Forest though. The Englishman has also played for clubs like Huddersfield Town and Norwich City over the course of his career.

Of course, many might feel that he is not good enough to be a starter for Celtic. But as a backup option to Tierney, someone like Toffolo could be a very good signing, especially since he is available as a free agent this summer.

It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move for him. They have also been linked with James Penrice of Hearts and Josh Doig of Sassuolo in recent weeks.
