Celtic have just announced the signing of Shin Yamada from Kawasaki Frontale. The Japanese striker comes on the back of a tough campaign in the J-League, which saw him score just twice. But in the season before that, he managed to find the back of the net on 19 occasions. The hope is that he will be able to rediscover that form for the Hoops.
Of course, Celtic fans will be hoping that plenty more additions are made to Brendan Rodgers' squad before the end of the summer transfer window. And a former Liverpool and Arsenal ace could be a potential opportunity worth considering.
67 Hail Hail have tipped Celtic to look to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. As reported by Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Besiktas have terminated his contract.
Of course, Oxlade-Chamberlain is someone who does not need any introduction. He made more than 100 appearances for both Liverpool and Arsenal over the course of his career in the Premier League after coming through the ranks at Southampton.
Celtic tipped to sign former Arsenal and Liverpool ace for free
Someone like Oxlade-Chamberlain could be a solid addition for Celtic, especially as he is available as a free agent. He is capable of playing in midfield and on both flanks as well, positions where the Hoops could do with more depth.
This is merely a suggestion at this point in time. It remains to be seen if Celtic do consider making a move for Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, now that he is without a contract. It would be a headline-worthy signing without having to pay out a transfer fee.
On the other hand, there are quite a few players who have been linked with Celtic for a while, like Michel-Ange Balikwisha of Royal Antwerp, who is believed to be open to a Parkhead move. But a deal has not gotten over the line yet.
