Celtic have been going through a horror run of form ever since Wilfried Nancy arrived as the manager of the club. They have lost five out of the seven games since the Frenchman took charge of the team, and a lot of work remains to be done if he is to have any chance of turning things around. As a result, even though the January transfer window just opened today, the Hoops do not have any time to waste.

In fact, it looks like they might be aiming to hand a derby debut to one of their transfer targets. Of course, that is if the signing can be completely in time.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are trying to finalise a loan deal for Bournemouth’s Julian Araujo. He has now arrived in Glasgow and edges closer to a switch. He has been pencilled in for a derby debut by Nancy.

Araujo has played only one game this season for Bournemouth. So, it remains to be seen whether he is a position to come in and start in a game of that magnitude.

That is certainly a position of need for Celtic at this point in time. They need to strengthen in that area of the pitch if there is to be any hope of Nancy's system working.

It is possible that Araujo could be the answer to their problems. After all, he was on the books at Barcelona just a little over a year ago and he has also played for both USA and Mexico at the international level.

That being said, things can go wrong as well, as they have for so many of the club's signings in the recent past. So, let's just wait and watch for now.
