Considering how one-sided the rivalry has been in recent years, it is remarkable that the Rangers have managed to win back-to-back Glasgow Derbies this season. This comes at a point in time when they are 13 points behind Celtic in the league with just 8 games left to play and also have an interim and inexperienced manager in the form of Barry Ferguson.

For Celtic, the recent Glasgow Derby loss will come as a major blow. The 3-0 defeat at Ibrox had been written off as a bad day at the office. The same cannot be done again.

Celtic had not lost a derby at Parkhead since October 2020. That 8-game run came to an end this weekend. And Brendan Rodgers' side clearly have some things to work on.

This was the third straight time that they have disappointed in the Glasgow Derby. While Celtic did win the Scottish League Cup final, the performance on that day was not good either. Things need to improve next season.

One player who was completely off colour against the Rangers is Nicolas Kuhn. The German winger had been Celtic's talisman in the first half of the season but has not looked impressive over the last few months.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Neil Lennon said about Kuhn while talking on Sky Sports Football:

"He was poor, yeah. Sloppy. A lack of belief. Speed. To be fair to Yilmaz, he played him really well. It’s not just Nicolas Kuhn, the whole team was lethargic for the first 20 minutes and Rangers took the game to Celtic and they weren’t at it."

Chris Sutton went on to add regarding Kuhn's display against the Rangers:

"Nicolas Kuhn didn’t perform in that first half. He was miles off it."

Kuhn has been heavily linked with a move away from Celtic in recent times. One has to wonder if that has become a distraction for him and is having an effect on his performances, which were world-class in the first half of the season.

It is also possible that he has simply run out of steam this season. It is just a sign that he still has a lot more to learn before making a step up to the next level.
