Andres Iniesta announced his retirement from the game, bringing an end to his legendary career, which saw him reach the peaks of football at both club and international levels. The Spaniard would have been a hero to many players today but one Celtic superstar even got the opportunity to play alongside him.
Of course, we are talking about Kyogo Furuhashi. He was teammates with Iniesta at Vissel Kobe before making the move to Celtic.
In fact, Iniesta is believed to have encouraged Kyogo to make the move to Celtic. It is one that has certainly brought a lot of success to the Scottish champions.
With Iniesta announcing his retirement from the game, Kyogo took the opportunity to send a heartfelt message to his former teammate. The Japanese international wrote on Instagram:
"It seemed short but it was long, intense and special time. Being able to play together, sharing the time together. My precious days that I experienced so many things and improved myself. I never forget these and will never do.I really appreciate it. Thank you."

Iniesta came through the youth ranks at Barcelona to become an integral part of their senior team. Alongside players like Lionel Messi, Xavi, Sergio Busquets and more, he helped build one of the best club teams in the history of the game.
Real Madrid might have won three Champions League titles on the trot but there are many neutral fans who believe that that Barcelona team was better. Iniesta's magic in midfield was a major reason behind that.
Iniesta enjoyed a lot of success representing Spain as well. He won the World Cup in 2010 and a couple of EUROs too.
Iniesta would leave Barcelona to join Vissel Kobe in 2018. His run with the Japanese club was longer than anybody would have expected. He won three trophies in his five years with them. He would then play a year for Emirates Club before deciding to say goodbye to football.
Iniesta might have never played for Celtic but he brought a lot of joy to football fans around the world. We would like to thank him for the memories and wish him the best in his future.
