Celtic did not have it easy against Aberdeen, going up against a resolute opponent and tough conditions. But ultimately, Brendan Rodgers' side proved why they are champions of Scotland. A late goal from Reo Hatate was enough to seal the 1-0 win and in the eyes of some, end the Dons' title challenge.
It was a close game throughout though. And one of Kyogo Furuhashi's challenges has come under the microscope after the game.
Kyogo collided with Aberdeen goalkeeper Ross Doohan while going for the ball. Bobby Madden believes that it should have resulted in a yellow card, even though the Japanese forward managed to avoid a booking on the night.
Madden wrote on his Instagram story while discussing the incident and even running a poll on the challenge:
"Yellow for me. Reckless and shows a disregard for opponent. Keeper has possession and I believe there is an opportunity to avoid contact."
Celtic superstar criticised for 'reckless' challenge
The intent on the part of Kyogo seemed to be to win the ball while the goalkeeper rushed out to claim it and did before the collision happened. And to be honest, it felt like the type of incident where it is completely up to the referee.
There was no significant unnatural movement on the part of Kyogo that would suggest that he wanted the collision to take place. In fact, it looks like he got a ton of the ball before colliding with the Aberdeen goalkeeper.
At the end of the day, it was just another incident in a game full of them. Thankfully, nobody was hurt and were good to continue the match.
In fact, Doohan went on to have a great game and was a major reason behind why Aberdeen were able to keep Celtic at bay for such a long time before the Hoops finally managed to find the back of the net late in the game to seal the three points and build up a big lead at the top of the Premiership table.
