Viljami Sinisalo has spoken out about Celtic's goalscoring prowess in the Scottish Cup, revealing that he is hopeful the Hoops will be able to repeat it.

Sinisalo was named between the sticks for the clash against St Mirren and conceded two goals, but otherwise, he had a good performance. Since coming in, he has been great for Celtic, and the goalkeeper has seen first-hand our struggles in front of goal this season.

It feels as though no one can regularly find the back of the net, so when we scored four goals in just one 15-minute half of extra time, fans were surprised. Now, we need to take that goalscoring ability into the split.

Speaking about the performance, Sinisalo said: "It's very pleasing to get six goals, we haven't done that in a while. I'm hopeful we'll take a lot from that. It's almost like opening a ketchup bottle – hopefully the goals can start flying in, like they've done there!

"It's definitely there, it's just putting yourself in that position more often, playing the forward pass more often, and being in and around their box to have their moments.

"You've got quality still at the top end of the pitch, we definitely do, it's just being around that area more often.

"I wouldn't say it's the word frustration, but we've got to somehow find a way to be in that moment more often, and like we were four times in five or six minutes, if you put pressure on your opponent and play it forward and one forward, you've always got a chance of causing moments like that, and then individual brilliance sometimes takes over, like it did on Sunday.

"I thought we started really well, stuck to the game plan. Then there was a little bit of a spell of 10 minutes where we lost control, obviously, me being included in that, let's be honest.

"I take responsibility when I have a moment like that myself, but I'm pleased that it's not cost us. I've said it many times, if I make a mistake, hopefully I'll never make the same one again.

"That's stuff you learn from, no one's perfect, everyone does make mistakes, me included."

Celtic have the ability to score goals

Celtic have shown that they have the ability to score a lot of goals, so they now need to prove that they can do it on a regular basis.

Throughout the season, far too many games have ended with only one or two goals being scored. That has cost Celtic not only points, but our goal difference is significantly worse than it was at this time last season.

If we want to pull this back and win the league, we are going to need to start scoring. It'll be crucial in the games against Hearts and Rangers that we find the net when we're presented with a chance. There is no room to fall off now.
