Celtic should sign Benfica winger after Jota and Paulo Bernardo
Celtic have found a ton of success signing players from Benfica in recent years. In the summer of 2021, they brought in Jota on loan and he quickly established himself as one of the best players in Scotland. He was signed on a permanent basis the following year and then moved to Al-Ittihad for a £25 million transfer fee in 2023, a then Scottish record.
In that same summer, Celtic signed Paulo Bernardo on a season-long loan deal from Benfica. His temporary stint at Parkhead was solid but not the outstanding success story of Jota.
Despite that, Celtic signed Bernardo on a permanent basis this summer and he seems to be only growing as a player since then. If he can continue on this trajectory, he will be one of the club's most important players soon enough.
So, it would be safe to say that Celtic have had a good time when it comes to signing highly talented players, who were struggling to establish themselves at Benfica. And now, they should turn their attention to one of the Portuguese club's wingers.

The player we are talking about is Norwegian international, Andreas Schjelderup. It is believed that Benfica shelled out a transfer fee north of €10 million to sign him in early 2023.
He had a difficult start to life at Benfica. After making only a few appearances for the club, he was sent back to Nordsjaelland on loan. Back with the Danish side, he shined again.
Now, back at Benfica, Schjelderup is struggling for playing time once again. He has made only one appearance this season so far, that too a cameo off the bench. If things do not improve for the 20-year-old Norwegian international soon, he might look for a change in scenery.
That might be a good opportunity for Celtic to swoop in. Luis Palma's future at the club has been a topic of discussion in recent times and if he were to leave, the Hoops would need to bring in another option on the left flank, a void Schjelderup could fill.
