It looks like Celtic are now starting to pick up the pace in the summer transfer window. They announced the departure of Marco Tilio earlier in the day and it is believed that Michel-Ange Balikwisha is on the verge of joining the Hoops as well, although that is not official yet. And now, it seems like the Scottish champions are set to sign an international left-back as well.
Of course, left-back is an area where Celtic need to strengthen. Kieran Tierney is going to be the undisputed starter there but considering his extensive injury record, the Hoops do need to bring in some reinforcements as well. Greg Taylor and Jeffrey Schlupp both left in the summer.
Celtic have signed Hayato Inamura but it does not feel like Brendan Rodgers views him as someone capable of contributing on a consistent basis. So, another option is needed there and the Hoops might be about to fill that need.
As reported by Augusto Cesar, in the coming hours, Marcelo Saracchi's loan move to Celtic could be finalised. The departure of the Uruguayan would give Boca Juniors a spot to make a signing until 31/8. For now, they have no plans to use it.
Celtic set to finalise signing of left-back in the next hours
Sarachhi is a name who has been linked with Celtic for the past few days. He is currently with Argentine giants Boca Juniors.
He has also made quite a few appearances for the Uruguay national team and at 27 years of age, he is very much in his prime as a footballer. It is also worth mentioning that he has previous experience of playing in Europe.
Saracchi is pretty much a backup option for Boca Juniors right now. So, he should not have a problem playing that role for Celtic.
