So much seems to be happening around the two Glasgow clubs at the moment that you almost forget that they are set to face off in the Scottish League Cup semi-final at Hampden Park next month. The Celtic supporters are dissatisfied with how things have been run at the club in recent months and want changes to be made, including the departure of some board members.

On the other hand, the Rangers find themselves in somewhat of a familiar position, albeit an unwanted one. For the fourth consecutive season, they have sacked their manager.

Steven Gerrard looks likely to be the one to replace Russell Martin in the Ibrox hot seat, with an agreement believed to be on the verge of completion. So, it looks like Brendan Rodgers will face the man with whom he almost won a Premier League title at Liverpool when the two sides meet the next time at Hampden Park.

There are going to be other things at play on that as well. For example, as reported by CeltsAreHere, Celtic will see their SPFL sanction kick in next month. The Hoops are set to lose 500 tickets for the League Cup semi-final against the Rangers.

This goes back to a disciplinary ruling that goes back to March. Of course, it kicks in at an unfortunte time, as you want as many fans as possible for the League Cup semi-final, especially against the Rangers.

Celtic's recent record against the Rangers has not been great. That comes as a surprise considering how many issues the Ibrox club have faced recently.

But for one reason or another, Celtic simply have not been able to get the better of them. Hopefully that will change at Hampden Park next month.
